Diploma in Registered General Nursing

Description

The Diploma in Registered General Nursing (RGN) programme prepares students with the essential clinical knowledge, hands-on skills, and professional attitudes needed for curative practice. The programme equips graduates to work effectively in hospital wards, emergency units, operating theatres, outpatient departments, and community health facilities, where they will provide holistic nursing care and support the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients.

The philosophy of the programme is based on the understanding that health care is a fundamental human right and that access to skilled nursing services should be available to every individual, family, and community. It emphasizes that nursing is not limited to preventing disease, but extends to the active treatment and rehabilitation of those who are ill or injured. Respect for human dignity, compassion in care, adherence to ethical practice, and the application of evidence-based clinical knowledge are seen as essential to effective nursing.
